How to decide the fertility rate of couples from Horoscope?
In our previous blog post, we learnt about astrological parameters for children, the best astrological condition for children, the worst astrological combination for children & the best time for planning a child. Today we learnt about an astrological way to decide fertility rate in the chart.
Beeja Sphuta & Kshetra Sphuta will play an important role to decide fertility in couples. But I would like to request you to check my previous article. This article will be part of our medical astrology series for children.
Planets responsible for fertility rate of couple in the horoscope
The fertility rate of couples will depend on Sperm & eggs. In astrology, sperms & eggs will be belonging to Venus. If Venus is weak in the chart then it will cause for overall weakness of eggs or sperms in the chart.
But the area in our human body which is responsible for producing the sperm or egg will be also a decidable factor regarding childbirth. Our Vedic astrology named such areas in our horoscope as Beeja Sphuta in the male chart & Kshetra Sphuta in a female chart.
Beeja Sphuta & Kshetra Sphuta are astrological calculative points in the horoscope.
What is Beeja & Kshetra in Fertility astrology?
Beeja will represent the Male or Purushatva in childbirth. Kshetra will be representing the female or Matritva in childbirth.
- Sun & Venus strength in the horoscope will decide the strength of Beeja in the horoscope.
- Moon & Mars strength in the horoscope will decide the strength of Kshetra in the horoscope.
How Beeja & Kshetra will be useful to decide the fertility rate of couples.
We have seen many times our doctor said couples don’t have any weakness to conceive. But they are not able to succeed to become conceived. Because fertility depends on a lot of other matters too.
If your report is normal but not able to conceive then lastly doctor said that during the union both are not in the jolly mood. Now from here, our astrology comes in the role.
We can check whether astrologically they have good fertility or not. So, we use Beeja Sphuta & Kshetra Sphuta to know the fertility of couples. Beeja Sphuta will be seen in the male chat & Khetra Sphuta in a female chart.
Beeja Sphuta & role of Beeja Sphuta in fertility rate in male chart
As we discussed, Beeja is frequently related to the Sperms of the Man but it represents the fertility power of Man. The strength of the Sun and Venus will be related to the Beeja of Man.
Before going to the calculation of Beeja Sphuta, we have to keep in mind the origin of Beeja Sphuta. Sun, Venus & Jupiter (the child karaka) will be the origin of Beeja Sphuta.
- If Sun is associated with Rahu, Ketu & Saturn in the natal chart then Sun may be considered weak.
- When Venus is combusted within 3 degrees or same navamsa with Sun or Venus will be trine or conjunct with Ketu then Such Venus will consider weak.

How to calculate the Beeja Sphuta
Beeja Sphuta = Sun degree + Venus degree + Jupiter degree
Here degree means degree with a sign. Again, after adding, if the degree will be more than 360 degrees then we reduced 360 from it to get the final output.

Sun in 18 degree 40 minutes 50 sec in Pisces sign
Venus in 18 degree 35 minutes 35 sec in Pisces sign
Jupiter in 21 degree 24 minutes 44 sec in Capricorn sign

How to use Beeja Sphuta to determine fertility of Man
- Beeja Sphuta may be used in a male horoscope to determine the fertility of Man.
- For good fertility, Beeja Sphuta must be in the odd sign & odd Navamsa.
- No malefic planet conjunct or aspects to Beeja Sphuta.
- Rahu, Ketu, Gulika, Mandi maybe cause more harm to Beeja Sphuta.
- Beeja Sphuta in Capricorn sign is not considered good.
Kshetra Sphuta & role of Kshetra Sphuta in fertility rate in female chart
Kshetra Sphuta will be responsible for fertility in the woman chart. Moon, Mars & Jupiter will be responsible for Kshetra Sphuta.
So, we have to consider the strength of Moon, Mars & Jupiter in the woman chart to decide their strength for fertility.
- If Moon is belonging to Amavasya & placed in the scorpion sign then consider weak in strength.
- When Mars is debilitating and aspected with Rahu then consider weak in strength.
- In the same ways, Amavasya Moon aspected or conjunct with Saturn is also considered weak.
- Combust Mars aspected by Saturn will be also considered weak.
How to calculate Kshetra Sphuta
Kshetra Sphuta = Moon degree + Mars degree + Jupiter degree
Here degree means degree with the sign. Again, after adding if the degree will be more than 360 degrees then we reduced 360 from it to get the final output.
For example, we consider
Moon in 6 degree 43 minutes 41 sec in Capricorn sign
Mars in 27 degree 6 minutes 22 sec in Leo sign
Jupiter in 21 degree 24 minutes 44 sec in Capricorn sign
So, Kshetra Sphuta = Moon + Mars + Jupiter

How to use Kshetra Sphuta to determine fertility of female
- Kshetra Sphuta will use to determine the fertility of a woman in the woman chart.
- For good fertility, Kshetra Sphuta must be in even sign & even navamsa.
- Kshetra Sphuta must be not in the negative influence of Rahu & Ketu or any debilitated planet or Gulika or Mandi.
- Kshetra Sphuta in Capricorn sign will be not considered good.
Beeja Kshetra Yoga Sphuta
When we add Beeja Sphuta & Kshetra Sphuta in any chart in the above-maintained method then we get Beeja Kshetra Yoga Sphuta. This is also considered a sensitive area for Children.
There are some less popular sutras for Beeja Kshetra Sphuta.
- Beeja Kshetra Sphuta doesn’t have under the negative influence of natural malefic like Rahu, Ketu, or more than two neuter planets ( Saturn, Mercury, Ketu).
- 5th or 7th from Beeja Kshetra Sphuta doesn’t under the negative influence of natural malefic like Rahu, Ketu, or more than two neuter planets ( Saturn, Mercury, Ketu).
- Beeja Kshetra Sphuta in Capricorn sign will be not considered good.
Putra Saham and role of Putra Saham in fertility rate of couples
Apart from Beeja Sphuta & Kshetra Sphuta, Putra Saham has also an important role in childbirth. Saham is considered an important astrological calculative point in astrology.
There are around 48 astrological Saham in our Vedic astrology which deals with various matters of Our Life. One of them will be Putra Saham. Putra Saham will be considered a sensitive area related to children
Calculation of Putra Saham
Putra Saham = Jupiter – Moon + Lagna
- For Finding Putra Saham we will subtract Moon latitude from Jupiter latitude
- After that add Lagna latitude.
- Out come will be Putra Saham.
For example, we consider
- Moon in 6degree 44 minutes 43 sec in Taurus sign
- Jupiter in 5degree 56 minutes 35 sec in Sagittarius sign
- Lagna in 21degree 50 minutes 2 sec in Capricorn sign
Putra Saham = Jupiter – Moon + Lagna
When we manually do this then we get Putra Saham in Virgo Sign 21 degree 1 minutes 55 sec.

Putra Saham must be without the influence of natural malefic and well placed in the chart. Any negative influence on Putra Saham will give negative effects on childbirth.
