Bhadra kaal is considered a malefic timeframe in Vedic Astrology. Actually, Bhadra is one of Karana among the 11 Karan in Vedic astrology. Vishti Karana is popular as Bhadra. The time frame of Vishti Karan is Bhadra Kaal.
For Your information, Every Tithi has equal to 2 Karan. So, Karan is half Part of a Tithi (means approx. time length of Karan is 12 hours). Astrologically, the Length of Karan is 30 ghati. You have to know that 1 ghati is equal to 24 minutes.
When Bhadra Kaal is considered in Vedic Astrology
As we discussed, one tithi has 2 Karan. 1st Karan is known as Purvardha Karan and 2nd Karan is known as Uttarardh Karan. Following are the timing of Bhadra

In most of the books, 1st Karan is written as Purvardha and 2nd Karan is written as Uttarardh. In Panchang when you see the Vishti Karana then You will Know the Bhadra.
Timing of Bhadra Kaal in a lunar month
As we discussed Bhadra is one of the Karan. So within 1 Lunar half month( Paksha), we have 30 Karan (15 tithi). Within this 30 Karan, we have 4 Bhadra Karan.
Means at least we have 8 time Bhadrakal in a month. I will discuss later which Bhadra is considered the worst in nature. So, creating unnecessary panic is not good in the name of Bhadra Kaal.

As per the ancient story, Bhadra is born from the Third eye fire elements of Lord Shiva. The purpose of Bhadra is to destroy the Manglik Karya (auspicious deeds) of daitya( devil), So the power of the devil will reduce. Because Bhadra helped God to win over Devil, that’s why even Bhadra has a nature of devils but is considered as God.

- Tritiya Bhadra is known as Kartalika
- Chaturthi is known as Hansi
- Saptami is known as Vaikriti
- Ashtami is known as Nandini
- Dashami is known as Raudramukhi
- Ekadashi is known as Trishira
- Chaturdashi is known as Chaturmukhi
- Purnima is known as Sumukhi
As per as name suggested Krishna Paksha Dashmi Bhadra is considered the worst and Purnima Bhadra can be the least malefic by nature.
Transit of Bhadra during Bhadra Kaal
If we consider Bhadra Kaal as a body then
- Starting 5 Ghati ( 2 hours) of Bhadra kaal, Bhadra placed in Mukha( mouth).
- 6 Ghati in Kantha (throat)
- 7 to 17 Ghati in Vaksha ( chest area)
- 18 to 21 Ghati in Nabhi ( naval area)
- 22 to 27 Ghati in Kati (waist area)
- 28 to 30 Ghati in Puncha ( tail part).
Here you have to know that 1 Day( 1 tithi) has 60 Ghati. So, 1 Karan or Bhadra has 30 Ghati. 1 Ghati will be equal to approx. 24 minute.
Results of Bhadra Transit in different body parts
- When Bhadra transit to Mukha then causes a loss in work.
- If Bhadra transit to Kantha then causes a loss of life.
- When Bhadra transit to the Chest area then causes loss of wealth.
- If Bhadra transit to the Naval area then causes quarrels or disputes.

Now must try to understand how to check moon transit if tail tail time can be used, want to enjoy this festival in day light before suryasta. I least believed in bhadra kalam the year before. I felt it’s made up by news channels to get TRP. The same went on internet. These days it’s so difficult to get correct info.
