What is the best method to Predict about results of Current Vimshottari dasha in the horoscope
There are multiple ways to predict about dasha in astrology. Vimshottari dasha is a very popular dasha in Vedic astrology. Today we discuss my way to predict results about any particular Vimshottari dasha.
I am using multiple techniques to know about the current dasha, whether it is a good dasha or a bad dasha. So, Let’s start with my way of Prediction
Results of Vimshottari dasha based on Functional beneficial or Functional malefic planet
In Vedic astrology, It is a very common statement that Functional benefits will give good results during their Vimshottari dasha. And Functional malefic will give bad results during their Vimshottari dasha. The neutral planet will give mixed results during their dasha.
Let’s look at below table for Functional beneficial & functional malefic based on Lagna.

By using the above table, we can know the possible good dasha or bad dasha. Now let’s look at another point.
Position, Aspects and Conjunction (PAC) can modify the results of dasha
But practically, the results of any planet will depend on its placement in the chart.
- If a functional beneficial planet is badly placed in the horoscope then good effect of the planet will reduce.
- In the same way, Functional malefic planet is well placed in the horoscope then bad effect of the planet will be reduced.
Means Placement (PAC) will further modify the results of dasha.
Always analyse the dasha in a group of Mahadasha, Antardasha & Pratyantar dasha
When we analyse dasha then think about the sequence of dasha. Such as Mahadasha/Antardasha/Pratyantardasha.
- Mahadasha is more powerful to decide the direction of results than antardasha than Pratyantar dasha.
- But for deciding a particular event timing, Pratyantar dasha is more powerful than Antardasha and Antardasha is more powerful than Mahadasha.
Next thing we have to consider that
- Dasha sequence of the functional beneficial planet will give the best results.
- In the same ways, the dasha sequence of Functional malefic planet will give the worst results.
- Dasha will give mixed results in the rest of the possibilities.
Dasha of any planet will give results according to house lordship in the Birth chart
Now the next question will be what are the results of the planet during their dasha. Basically, any planet will give results according to their house lordship in the chart. So, the natal promise of any planet will execute during their dasha. We have to follow the below sequence regarding the strength of the results
This means bhava lord and their placement in different bhava will impact more than Planet in any house. In the same ways, Planet in any house has more impact than a planet in any particular sign.
For example, Saturn is placed in the 5th house in Leo sign in the Aries ascendant chart. In such case, we will give priority as per below
- Saturn is the 10th & 11th house lord and placed in the 5th So, we will check the results of 11th house lord in 5th house, 10th house lord in 5th house.
- Then we will check results of Saturn in 5th
- Lastly, we will give importance to Saturn in the Leo sign.
Contradictory results may be nullified
- Suppose if the sequence of dasha will promise the same type of events then it is considered the strongest indication for that event.
- If the sequence of dasha will promise the supportive or connecting events for a particular event then that events will be also possible during that dasha.
- But if the sequence of dasha will indicate contradictory events then that sort of event may be nullified.
Point keeps in the Mind during prediction
- A functional beneficial planet can give bad results if badly placed in the horoscope.
- Well placed functional malefic can give good results during their dasha.
