Karaka planet of marriage in Vedic astrology
- Venus universal karaka of marriage
- Mars, karaka of husband in astrology
- Venus, karaka of wife in astrology
- Jupiter universal karaka of any sort of happiness or most north Indian astrologer considered as husband karaka
Karaka house or bhava in Vedic astrology
- The 7th house is the prime karaka of marriage in astrology. So, the 7th house and 7th house lord conditions in the horoscope have a huge impact on marriage.
- 2nd house is a house of family. Once you marry then create a new family for yourself. So, 2nd house and 2nd house lord condition will have a huge impact on our marriage life.
- 4th house is our domestic happiness. Marriage life will be depending on our domestic happiness. Once you are free from your work then go home, to get some peace in your mind. Domestic happiness has a huge role in a relationship with your wife. So, the 4th house and 4th house lord has a huge impact on the relationship.

- The 7th house is well placed. The 7th house doesn’t occupy any natural malefic planet such as Rahu, Ketu, Saturn and Mars.
- Seventh house doesn’t have 6th, 8th or 12th house lord.
- The 7th house lord is well placed in Kendra house (1st, 4th, 7th or 10th) or Trine house (1st,5th, or 9th house).
- If the 7th house doesn’t have a relationship with the natural malefic planet. But if 7th house lord is own self natural malefic then we don’t consider it. For example, you have Leo ascendant then Saturn is the 7th house lord. That’s mean Saturn is not malefic for marriage regarding the house lord concept. Means Saturn placement in the 7th house is not considered malefic. But Saturn conjunction with Rahu must give a negative influence on marriage.
- When the 7th house is placed in its sign or mooltrikona sign or exalted sign then the 7th house is getting natural strength.
- 7th house is Shubha kartri then it is considered good for marriage. Shubha kartri means the placement of a naturally beneficial planet in both sides of the 7th house (natural beneficial in the 6th & 8th house).
- If the 7th house is not in the Paap Karti. Paap Karti means the placement of natural malefic in both sides of the 7th house.
Some other planetary combination that improves marriage life
- Jupiter placement in the 7th house is considered good for marriage life. I know Jupiter placement in the 7th house is a debatable subject. But for me, Jupiter placement in the 7th house is considered good.
- If Jupiter conjunct or aspected Mars and Venus then it will be considered as saviour of marriage life.
- Mars must be not conjunct with Rahu, Saturn or Ketu. Even trine or 7th from Mars doesn’t have Rahu, Saturn and Ketu. When Mars has relationship with Rahu, Saturn and Ketu is not considered good for marriage life.
- Venus is a prime important Karak planet for Marriage. Ketu is the worst enemy for Venus regarding marriage life. But Venus must not conjunct with Ketu. Even trine from Venus is Ketu then it will be creating issues in marriage life.
- The placement of Venus in the scorpion sign is not considered good for marriage life.
- Venus placement in 6th house or debilitating sign (means in Virgo ) is not considered good.
- Planet Venus in Shubha kartri is considered good for marriage. Venus in Paap kartri is not considered good for marriage life.
4th house domestic happiness has an important role in your marriage
4th house is a prime Karak house for domestic happiness. Your marriage life will also impact some external matters. One of those is domestic happiness. If you have good domestic peace in your life, then it will improve the happiness in your life. So, we must consider the 4th house to know the peaceful domestic environments.

- Natural malefic planet Rahu and Ketu in the 4th house is not considered best for domestic happiness.
- 4th house lord must be well placed in the horoscope.
- Placement of dusthana lord(6th house lord, 8th house lord or 12th house lord) in 4th house is not considered good for domestic happiness.
Your family environment must be in good conditions
2nd house is the house of family. Happy marriage life also depends on family environments. If you live in a joint family, then the condition of the 2nd house will play important role in marital happiness.
- Ketu is not placed in 2nd house. Ketu in the 2nd house is creating some unnecessary disputes among family members.
- 2nd house lord must be well placed in the horoscope.
- The placement of the dusthan lord in the 2nd house is creating issues among family members.
