How can I know my marriage timing as per Vimshottari Dasha?
Vimshottari dasha is a popular dasha in Vedic astrology or Parashari astrology. The 7th house is the karaka of marriage in Vedic astrology. We can predict the marriage of a native during mahadasha, antardasha and pratyantar dasha of the planet, which is associated with the 7th house or 7th house lord. Let’s elaborate some possibility
Steps to predict timing of marriage
Below dasha can give marriage
- Dasha of the depositor of 7th house lord
- In navamsa chart, amsa lord of 7th house lord. Means dasha of that planet who is depositor of 7th house lord ( Rashi chart or D1) in navamsa
- Dasha of planet placed in 7th house can give marriage
- Dasha of 7th house lord (You have a question click on mind, why I write this in 4th point? (Because marriage is only possible during 7th house lord dasha when 7th house lord associated with venus).
- 2nd house is a house of family. When we will be married, then it will create our new family life. So, 2nd house is also important for a marriage. 2nd house is a very karaka house in marriage astrology. So, depositor of 2nd house lord in Rashi chart or navamsa chart may be karaka Dasha for marriage.
- Venus is the prime karaka of marriage. Moon is also considered as sub karaka of marriage. So, mahadasha of Venus or Moon will be karaka Dasha for marriage. It is applicable only when another supportive dasha is not found in the chart.
- Venus is the karaka of marriage, so the planet associated with Venus can give marriage.
- Dasha of the planet which aspects 7th house can give marriage during their Dasha
The point we have to keep in our mind is to know the marriage time as per Vedic astrology
- The timing of marriage will be only predicted when Mahadasha-antardasha-pratyantar dasha will support marriage. This means all 3 dasha will be associated with the above-said rules.
- We have to follow the sequence of points. Means point number 1 has more power to give marriage in comparison to point number 8.
- If the planet is associated with the 6th house lord or 12th house lord then it will not easily give marriage. The planet associated with the 8th house lord can also cause obstacles in a marriage.
Timing of marriage with the tested technique of Rashi dasha
Char Rashi dasha is very unique Dasha in Vedic astrology. You have to know that char Rashi dasha may be unique for each individual chart. Rashi dasha is based on the sign. It has a very simple sutra to predict marriage.
- The depositor sign of the 7th house lord is favourable for marriage.
- 7th house sign is favourable for marriage
- Sign owned by Planet placed in 7th house or associated with 7th house lord can give marriage
Important sutra about Rashi dasha
Rashi dasha work on activation of sign technique. So, let’s understand the technique of activation of Rashi dasha
- Any sign active during own Rashi dasha
- If a sign is active during Rashi dasha then also active own sign lord. Once Sign lord is active, then also active sign where he is placed.
- Rashi dasha of a sign will also active own depositor planet
Prediction of Marriage with Sudarshan chakra Dasha
Sudarshan chakra dasha is a yearly dasha based on Rashi. It is a very popular dasha among learned astrologers due to its simple and unique qualities. Here I have explained a little bit for your knowledge.
- At the time of birth, 1st house is active and during running 12th-year 12th house is active. Again 13-year 1st house is active and so on, 24th running year 12th house is active.
- Sudarshan chakra is working on the house activation method.
- Sudarshan Chakra is constructed with Lagna chart/ moon chart/ Sun chart.

- 7th house is active
- Depositor house of 7th house lord is active
- Any house is active which house lord is either placed in 7th house or conjunct with 7th house lord
Timing of marriage as per K.P. Astrology
K.P astrology is purely based on house numbers given by the planet. You can use any astrological software to know the number given by the planet which dasha is running. We use 3 step theory means Planet, their nakshatra or star or their Sub nakshatra. This technique is also popular as Nakshatra Nadi.
The 7th house is the house of Marriage, so the first Karak number for marriage is 7. The second house is a house for a family, so the next karaka number is 2. Number 11 is always needed to fulfil any desires.
- So possible number combination is 2, 7, 11 for marriage
Promised of Marriage as per transit of Planet
There are multiple ways to know the effect of transit on the planet. Our students would like to follow planet to planet transit method suggested by bhrigu Nandi Nadi. So, here I will mention that method.
- If female horoscope, then Mars is karaka of husband. Marriage is possible in that year when Jupiter transit over natal Mars or giving aspects on natal Mars.
- But If the chart belongs to Male, then Venus is the karaka of a wife. So, marriage is possible in that year when Jupiter transit over natal Venus or aspects natal Venus.

Double transit- best & popular technique of Vedic astrology
Jupiter and Saturn are major planets in Vedic astrology which has a long term effect during transit. If any year both Saturn and Jupiter are associated with the 7th house then marriage is possible. Here association with 7th house possible in following ways
- Saturn or Jupiter is either placed in the 7th house or aspects 7th house.
- Either Saturn and Jupiter are associated with the 7th house lord with conjunction or aspects
- Both Saturn or Jupiter must be associated with the 7th house or 7th house lord. Only then do we consider double transit
Some less popular techniques but mentioned in phaldipika or other classical books
- Marriage is possible when Jupiter transit over the navamsa sign of the 7th house lord
- When the 7th house lord transit over Lagna or Lagna lord then marriage is possible
- Venus transit over Lagna or lagnesh then marriage is possible
- Sun transit over navamsa sign of ascendant and same time Jupiter also aspecting Sun than marriage is possible.
- When Jupiter transit over natal Vivah Saham or Bhrigu Bindu then marriage is possible. Even Jupiter aspects Vivah Saham or bhrigu bindu then marriage is also possible. Here 7th aspect is considered more powerful regarding giving the results.
