Basic of Navtara Concept in Tara Matching
Let’s know some basics about the Navtara concept.
- 1st birth star is Known as Janam tara or birth star.
- 2nd star from the birth star is known as Sampat tara or prosperity star.
- 3rd star from the birth star is known as Vipat tara or adverse star. This is a dangerous star.
- 4th star from the birth star is known as Kshem tara or comfort star.
- 5th start from the birth star is known as Pratyari tara or opposite or back enemy star. This is also a dangerous star.
- The 6th star from the birth star is known as Sadhaka tara or agent star.
- 7th star from the birth star is known as the Nidhan star or death star. This is the most dangerous star.
- The 8th star from the birth star is known as Mitra star or Friend star.
- The 9th star from the birth star is known as Param Mitra or best friend star.
After the 9th start from the 10th star, we will start from the birth star. 10th is a birth star, 11th is Sampat star and so on …. 18th star is Param Mitra.
Again from the 19th star is a birth star and 27 is param Mitra on the same sequences.
So, we have 3 sets of stars of Navatara chakra. This Siddhanta is known as the Navtara concept. In the navtara concept 3rd, 5th and 7th stars are considered dangerous stars.

Method of Tara matching
- We should avoid the relationship, if boy and girl, both have 3rd,5th or 7th star from each other. This is known as Tara dosha. In such a case 0 points are given out of 3 marks.
- If any of one has 3rd, 5th, or 7th star from others then in such case 1.5 points out 3 marks.
- If both boy and girl don’t have 3rd, 5th or 7th star then it is considered best matching. In such a case, we will give 3 points out 3 points
