What should we avoid in any Particular Tithi

Our ancient Vedic Culture has deep knowledge about the impact of Sun and Moon co-relative relationship. Sun & Moon transit relationship is represented by Vedic Tithi in astrology.

Based on Vedic Tithi our ancient classical books such as Purana, Sanhita and Muhurta books, we should avoid works on particular Tithi. Today we discuss Vedic Tithi and their preferred acts.

Beneficial and Malefic Tithi as per Vedic Astrology

Krishna Paksha (the dark half of lunar month) is malefic in nature. Shukla Paksha (the bright half of lunar month) is beneficial in nature. This is a simple concept. The base of this concept is based on the visibility of the Moon (Chandra Bala).

  • We know that in Krishna Paksha size of the moon will continue decreasing and finally on the day of Amavasya, no moon is visible in the Sky.
  • In the same way, in Shukla Paksha size of the Moon will continue increasing and on the day of Purnima, there is a full moon in the Sky.

So, it is very Simple that the Size of Moon will be matters in astrology regarding Chandra Bala. We also used the same concept in Tithi and divide Tithi into 3 parts (5 tithi in a group). So,

  • Krishna Pratipada to Krishna Panchami and Shukla Ekadashi to Purnima is considered beneficial or best tithi (Simply on those days Moon is brighter).
  • Krishna Shashti to Krishna Dashami and Shukla Shashti to Shukla Dashmi is considered Average in nature.
  • Krishna Ekadashi to Amavasya and Shukla Pratipada to Shukla Panchami is considered malefic in nature. Because these days are considered darker in nature.
